I'm done for the year!

Today I held my last football practice with the Erlangen Sharks in 2008. No more football on the field, it's time for Bowl Mania on TV. I'll start today with the New Mexico Bowl and the Las Vegas Bowl.

I'm ready to lay back and enjoy the final 10 days of 2008!

I hate Odysseus

Actually it's not his fault, that my computer got infected with a trojan horse. But after all it was his idea to build the first trojan horse. The unwelcome visitor in my system32 folder is called TR/Monder. Oh, I hate it. AntiVir detected the virus and deleted it, but TR/Monder keeps coming back. I tried different anti-trojan solutions, but I couldn't eliminate the virus completely. So I had to erase Windows. I really hate installing Windows. It's a pain in the ass!

Odysseus was punished by the gods. I hope the guy who wrote the TR/Monder will be punished by Cyclopes, Sirens and crazy witches, too.

Oh man, I wish I had a IMac!

SEO is good, but sometimes SEO goes too far, then SEO starts being annoying!

I just stumbled over a post at Blogger Unleashed and I got slapped in the face by search engine optimization. Check out the headline and the first paragraph:

Entrecard Sucks And There Is No Doubt

Entrecard sucks and the debate keeps on and on if indeed Entrecard sucks. Time will only tell if Entrecard sucks but I would bet that indeed as most traffic exchanges Entrecard will die the same death as those in the past.

You know which site is on top if you type in "Entrecard sucks" at Google. I know a lot of bloggers make their living from blogging and I know that they need search engine optimization to get traffic and get clicks from their ads.

But...

Sometimes it's just annoying to read search-engine-optimized posts. The same phrase over and over again. There are good posts with subtle SEO and then there are those I-don't-care-who-had-to-reads-this-as-long-he-finds-my-site-and-clicks-my-ads posts. I have a little song in my head: "SEO kills the thesaurus....SEO kills the thesaurus" (please include the music of 'Video kills the radio star'). Poor synonyms nobody will need them anymore.

By the way, I used the phrases "Entrecard sucks" and "search engine optimization" pretty often in this post. I will watch my Google Analytics reports closely and I will inform you how many visitors will have found this post through these two keywords.

Oh, before I forget to mention: Entrecard doesn't suck!

Cat Fight Round One!

There are so many cat-related blogs at Entrecard and I constantly wonder which cat is the best?
So there is only one way to decide: CAT FIGHT!!

In the first fight my own tomcat named 'Mack' challenges 'Daisy the Curly Cat'! Let's meet the competitors:

Welcome to another blog

Dear Reader,

I'm glad you stopped your daily drop-and-run to read my first post. This is just another personal blog of an individual, who fulfills the need of ranting.

I already fill two other blogs with content: 'What the Bald Guy needs to know about sports' and 'What a bald guy told me about technology!'. These blogs are very theme-focused; I write about two of my favorite topics: sports and nerd stuff.
That's why I created "Excuse My German". This blog has no topic or subject; the whole thing is me-focused. Yes, it is just another stupid rant blog! Yeah, but I don't care. That's the 21st century every schmo has to share his wacky opinion with the whole world. I'm no different.
